The caps are wide and open right out, with a wrinkled surface and edges that curl up and go wavy as they dry, a bit like a flower. That is where the name comes from. The gills underneath are pale with a cream edge, and the stems are thick and white with a touch of blue near the base. They keep their colour well once dried.
