Casper Mushrooms Overview
Casper is a cross of MakShak and Albino Penis Envy. MakShak is itself a Melmac and Shakti cross, so Casper carries some of the heaviest names in the hobby on both sides.
The mushrooms are pale ivory to white, with thick stems and small, dense caps that open from a cone into a bell shape. A faint blue-grey spot sits in the centre of each cap. They are short and stocky rather than tall, and they feel heavy for their size.
Dried, they are firm and snap clean. Casper sits in our whole dried mushrooms range.
How Strong Is Casper?
Very strong. A Casper sample entered in the Spring 2022 Psilocybin Cup tested at 1.51% psilocybin and 1.79% total tryptamines, about twice the average for cubensis entries that year and the fourth highest result of the competition. That puts it at the top end of our very potent magic mushrooms, alongside Penis Envy. Effects lean visual and heavy rather than light. Strength still varies from batch to batch, so start low and take it slow.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Casper a true albino?
No. Casper is leucistic, which means the caps and stems lose their colour but the mushroom still makes a normal dark purple-black spore print. A true albino would have a pale print too. On the shelf the difference does not matter, but it is why some sellers list it as “white” rather than “albino”.
What is the dark spot on the cap?
That is part of the strain. The very centre of the cap keeps a little pigment while the rest goes pale, so it shows as a small blue-grey dot. It is not a bruise and not a sign of damage.
How does Casper compare to Penis Envy?
They are close relatives and sit in the same strength range. Casper is the paler of the two and has a lab result on record; Penis Envy is the more common and better known. If you have had Penis Envy and liked it, Casper is the natural next one to try. You can buy magic mushrooms online in Canada across the full MyHigh range.
How should I store dried mushrooms?
Sealed, cool, dark and dry. A jar in a cupboard works well. Kept that way, dried mushrooms hold up for a long time. Heat, light and moisture are what wear them down.
